Though competitive, the transfer acceptance rate at the University of Michigan is almost double the freshman rate, with over 2000 transfer students admitted for Fall 2022.

UMich supports their transfer students from admission to graduation, resulting in a 92% graduation rate. Transfer students can take advantage of helpful resources such as the LSA Transfer Student Center, the Transfer Connections mentoring program, Child Care subsidies, and the Student Veterans Assistance Program.
Requirements for Transfer to the University of Michigan
Students enrolled at any college or university following high school graduation will need to apply as transfer students. UMich doesn’t have a minimum credit requirement, but competitive applicants usually have two or more semesters of transferable coursework.
